SUBSTANCE USE AND ADDICTION SUPPORT

Tuesdays
5-6:00 pm
Starting Fall 2025

Nick Ho, MSW, Intern. Location MFSP offices.

The Substance Use and Addiction Support Therapy Group provides a non-judgmental space for individuals identifying with substance use and addiction issues to find community and healing. Through peer-led discussions and group support, participants are encouraged to share their stories, process challenges, and support each other on the path to recovery. Therapeutic art activities offer a creative outlet for self-expression and a way to explore emotions related to addiction in a safe, non-verbal manner. Snacks are provided to create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, making the space more inviting and supportive. The group focuses on fostering connection, promoting resilience, and building coping skills to support sobriety and long-term well-being.

This is an outside-the-box-way to connect and create community support!

LGBTQIA+ PROCESS

Mondays
4:30-5:45 pm
Summer 2025

Jennie Freimoeller, LPC. Location MFSP Movement Space in Downtown Milwaukie.

MFSP’s Queer Process Group is an inclusive space for those who identify with any part of the rainbow (LGBTQIA2S/Pan/Demi/Ace/Split Attraction+!). We aim to nurture resilience, promote self-acceptance, and empower each member's authentic self. Come share in this supportive community through therapeutic discussions, processing of lived experiences, and mutual support with a small, consistent group of peers. This in-person group gives us the opportunity to incorporate some art/craft activities, nature therapy, light movement and/or coming together for discussion around food.

Queer Group is supportive as a supplement to individual therapy or as a stand-alone experience for those looking for additional community with whom to process their struggles and successes.

Meet our Group Therapists at MFSP

Joining a therapeutic group is a really wonderful step in your healing and growing process. While individual therapy gives you one on one tailored support, group therapy gives you both a group of humans to care about you, but also helps you explore your complex feelings towards others in real time.

Group therapy is excellent for people that want to build skills in how they relate to others, build confidence in themselves, and get support both from a therapist and from their peers.

Our group therapists love the energy of working with groups and we will engage with each of you to support you in your work. We are all passionate about group work and have seen the ways in which it can change people’s lives. Give it a try! We have 4 groups currently accepting new members.
