Hi, I’m Jennie! I grew up here in Portland and have a deep affection for this quirky city nestled between the ocean and the mountains. I identify as white, gender non-conforming, able bodied and queer. I strive to create a safe space for people with identities differing from my own and encourage discourse and transparency around how our social locations affect our lived experience. I practice from an anti-oppressive lens and continue to look critically at my own privilege and the power dynamics it can create in relationships.

I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Western Oregon University and in 2022 with a Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark. This second degree was focused in LGBTQIA+ counseling and Ecopsychology, allowing me to combine my passions for environmentalism and healing with nature, and my desire to work within the queer community. I have had additional training in EMDR for trauma work, extensive experience with grief support and also Superhero Therapy…because I’m a huge nerd. :)

Hobbies: All the books; green witchery (aka plants); pet parent to two majestic felines; serving as a NET member for my community; adventuring in new places; strolling, both in nature and around my neighborhood; spinning and strength training, cooking with food grown in my backyard; time spent in the company of people who lift me up, usually with food, music and/or games.
